Day 1: Kampong Tralach

An early start as we meet at Siem Reap’s famous FCC hotel & restaurant at 8am for our transfer by luxury air-conditioned coach to Prek Kdam on the Tonle Sap river to meet the Mekong Dawn boat. You will be met by our Cruise Manager with a welcome drink and checked into your cabins. We then sail for a gentle cruise down the river toward today’s destination Kampong Tralach. Lunch will be served as we cruise and enjoy the views along the Tonle Sap. A local rural area of natural beauty, you will dock amongst the rice paddies. After docking and disembarking, step back in time as you enjoy a ride in a traditional local Ox-cart through the Cambodian villages!

Return to the boat for a relaxed evening on board with dinner and drinks served amongst the rural splendour of this very scenic spot along the river.

Day 2: Kampong Chhnang

The boat will begin its gentle ride toward Kampong Chhnang as the sun rises, but you can take your time to rise for breakfast as you feel comfortable. The ride from Koh Chen to Kampong Chhnang is one of the most scenic on the Tonle Sap, as you pass floating villagers and fishermen, children waving from the shores all the while. We arrive and dock in Kampong Chhnang at lunchtime, where you can enjoy your meal in the stunning surroundings of Kampong Chhnangs floating villages. After lunch and allowing for the hottest time of the day to pass, we transfer to the local port in smaller boats for visits to the town’s famous pottery villages. The word ‘Chhnang’ literally means pottery in Khmer and local craftsmen travel and sell their wares throughout the Kingdom. We can visit the villages either with a gentle bike ride or by local ‘tuk tuks’, either way you will be able to take in the beautiful scenery of this province, with its flat landscape dotted with palm trees, mountain views and lush rice paddies.

Return to the Mekong Dawn for sundowners over the river and surroundings. We enjoy dinner here before bedding for the night.

Day 3: Udong

Enjoy your breakfast in the stunning surroundings of Kampong Chhnangs floating villages. We then set sail for a gentle cruise down the river toward the old mountain capital of Udong.

The ride from Kampong Chhnang to Koh Chen is one of the most scenic on the Tonle Sap, as you pass floating villagers and fishermen, children waving from the shores all the while. We arrive and dock in Koh Chen around lunchtime, where you can enjoy your meal followed by a visit to the local village where craftsmen work with silver and other materials. We will then whizz you to nearby Udong mountain, where a brisk climb takes you to one of the finest views in the Kingdom. From 1618 to 1866 this served as Cambodia’s capital city and an array of interesting stupas, tombs and memorials remain. Enjoy a choice of sunset either atop the mountain or back at the boat. In the evening you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner onboard. We dock here in the peaceful vicinity of Koh Chen for our third night.

Day 4: Phnom Penh

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast as we hop on along the river toward our final destination of Phnom Penh. From the historic capital of old Udong witness the dramatic transformation of Cambodia as we approach the new, ever developing, new capital of Phnom Penh with its high-rise buildings. You will have time to pack and gather your belongings before disembarking around 10am. We will transfer you to the central riverside location of the DOT Grill restaurant, a short distance from our private dock.

TIPS ON WHAT TO PACK FOR A MEKONG RIVER CRUISE

1. Only pack what you really need

It is for sure that you never want to bring along massive bags with some things you even barely touched. So when deciding what to pack for a river cruise, think more about what not to pack. 

Don’t bring along too much clothing as you can have clothes for an entire week for less than 20 USD at markets in Vietnam and Cambodia. In big cities like Ho Chi Minh or Phnom Penh, you can buy anything you want.

2. Don’t skip on toiletries 

The personal toiletries including shampoo, soap, toothpaste, and other essentials is a must, especially for those who are prone to allergies. Although most of the cruise ships come with these items, they may not be your favorites. Your makeup and hair products should be added to your list of what to pack for a river cruise.

3. Know how to mix and match

If you know how to mix and match your clothing, you won’t be hit with extra bags. You can easily combine your shirts and pants for different events onboard and excursions as well. 

4. Keep all the important documents with you

Make sure you bring your necessary IDs and cruise documents or a passport with you for border crossing formalities. Never pack them in checked luggage.

5. Go Casual with Accessories

It is recommended that you don’t wear jewelry or valuables or carry a purse when traveling in big cities. Keep in simple, you don’t need much more in the way of accessories.

1. How do I reserve my tours with Viet Green Travel/Viet Green Golf?

Just complete and send the reservation form on our website, making sure that you have given us your e-mail address and phone number. As soon as we receive your request we will contact you to confirm the reservation. It is our policy to reply to all requests within 24 hours.

2. Do you have tours available on specific dates?

Almost all of our tours are daily departure. To make a booking, you must submit a reservation form. Then we process the booking and reply to you within 24 hours.

3. I don’t want to make a reservation online, what can I do?

4. Can I make a reservation directly through a travel agent?

Yes, of course if you would like to make a reservation directly with the tour operator or travel agent, you will need to contact them directly. However, we are in good position to make the offer, make the booking and run the trip as we are a local tour operator.

5. What if the preferred hotel is not available?

You will be notified via an e-mail (within 24 hours after placing your order) and we will do our best to suggest or book an alternative similar hotel based on your preferences and our experience.

6. What is the latest time that I can make my reservation?

We can only guarantee bookings made at least 3-working days (not including Sun & Public holidays) before the departure date.

7. How far in advance can I book?

You can book as far as 24 months in advance, but please ensure you remember you have made the reservation. We will charge 20% of total rate is required upon the confirmation of services require full payment 60 days before departure.

You can expect to receive the invoice as a reminder well in advance of your trip.

8. How do I make a reservation for someone else?

To complete a reservation for someone else, simply type in his or her name instead of yours for guest name. Don’t forget to use your email address to receive your confirmation information.

9. What happens to my tour booking if my flight is delayed?

Please inform us and the hotel immediately as any changes or fee will depend on the hotel policy. We will also try our best to offer you similar ground services.

10. Is it reliable to book online?

Making an online reservation is easy and safe. Just complete the secure reservations form, making sure that you give us your e-mail address.. As soon as we receive your request we will reply within 24 hours.

Booking Cruise Policy

  • Program is subject to change due to unpredictable events such as the vagaries of the weather and tide variations.
  • Infants under 6 years-old sharing cabin with their parents are free of charge.
  • Children between 6 and 11 years old get a 50% discount.
  • Peak Season Surcharge - Boat booking : 45 US$ per person of surcharge on December 24, December 31 & Eve Lunar New Year. - Car service : 30% of surcharge on April 30th, May 1st, and 4 days of Lunar New Year (from December 30th to January 3rd)

  • From 15 to 29 days before departure: 25% of total rates.
  • From 7 to 14 days before departure: 50% of total rates
  • From 3 to 6 days before departure: 75% of total rates

Child Policy

  • Children aged 4 or less: Free of Charge 
  • Children from the age of 5 to 11: 50% discount based on adult price

1. Deposits & Payment Policy:

  • A deposit of 25% of the total of the tour is required upon confirmation of booking tour.  You have peace of mind until 2 months before departure dates. At that point, we would require full prepayment only 60 days before departure for all services by money transfer or credit card payment with all bank transfer charges/ fees to be paid by the client.
  • All the tour packages on this website operate on a pre-payment basis. Payment can be made either using a major credit card as Visa, Mastercard, and American Express Credit Card, not including credit card transaction fee ( Please add in 3% fee for Visa, Mastercard or 4% for American Express to the total amount of payment each time).
  • If you wish to pay us online on our secure server, please click here and fill in the form.
  • After receiving your payment, we will issue you the hotel voucher and/or final confirmation itinerary, which can be sent to you by fax or e-mail.

Cancellations timeline will be charged as follows:

  • 60 days prior to the arrival date: Non Refundable deposit charge and the cancellation fees applied by the concerned services suppliers such as flight company, boat company, train, hotels… in accordance with their cancellations policies if any.
  • 59 – 31 days prior to arrival date: Cancellations fee of 30% per group/booking and plus the cancellation fees applied by the concerned services suppliers such as flight company, boat company, train, hotels… in accordance with their cancellations policies if any.
  • 30 days – 15 days prior to arrival date: Cancellations fee of 50% per group/booking plus the cancellation fees applied by the concerned services suppliers such as flight company, boat company, train, hotels… in accordance with their cancellations policies if any.
  • 14 – 7 days before arrival: Cancellations fee 70% charge plus the cancellation fees applied by the concerned services suppliers such as flight company, boat company, train, hotels… in accordance with their cancellations policies if any.
  • Less than 7 days before arrival Or No show: 100 % charge per group/booking.

*** Nonrefundable deposit and banking service fee will be forfeited in all cancellation cases.

4. Refund of Unused Services

No refund will be given for any unused service after the trip has commenced.

5. Liability

VIET GREEN TRAVEL is not responsible for any loss, injury or damage sustained by passengers. Additional expenses incurred due to delays, accidents, natural disaster, political actions, and unrest must be borne by the passengers. Passengers are required to have full travel insurance.

Airline schedules and local conditions may affect accommodation and itineraries. Should this occur, VIET GREEN TRAVEL will endeavor to substitute a suitable arrangement of similar value. Participation on any tours implies full agreement to the above conditions by all parties involved.

6. Passport and Entry Visa

Your passport must be valid for at least six months following your entry date to your travel destination.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in possession of a valid passport and visa and all travel documents are valid for travel.

7. Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is not included in your tour price. It is the passenger’s responsibility to verify whether his/her local health insurance carrier provides coverage while traveling. Please contact your insurance carrier for details.

VIET GREEN TRAVEL strongly advises that you purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy to cover all aspects of your tour: the loss of deposits through cancellation lost of baggage and personal items, personal injury and death. A waiver must be signed if insurance is declined.
